welcome

***For advice on swine flu and pregnancy please see our recommended links in the latest news section***

We know that miscarriage can be a very unhappy, frightening and lonely experience. If you have been affected by the loss of a baby in pregnancy, whether recently or long ago, we hope that you will find here support, information and comfort.

'People think I should be over it by now, but I just feel so empty and I can't stop crying'

Our support section describes some of the ways people might feel after a miscarriage, ectopic or molar pregnancy. We provide links to some of our leaflets on particular aspects of pregnancy loss and to selected items from our members’ newsletter. There is also a link to our reflections section, which contains personal stories and poems from others who have been affected by pregnancy loss - you may find comfort in reading these. And we tell you about the support services which The Miscarriage Association can offer.

You can also access our forum, a safe and friendly space for people to share feelings and their news and to seek and offer support and comfort.  As well as a general forum, there are specific topic areas for recurrent loss, pregnancy after loss and media information

'Why did I miscarry? Was it something I did'

Our information section provides an overview of what we know about the causes, management and treatment of miscarriage, ectopic and molar pregnancy. We also answer some common questions about threatened miscarriage. For more detailed information, there are links to all of our leaflets, which you can read on-line or download to read later. You will also find our suggested reading list as well as some articles from our quarterly members’ newsletter.

You can use the menu options on the left to explore what we have on our website, or if you prefer you can view the site map. You might want to use the search facility if there is something specific you are looking for. If you have any problems finding what you need, please contact us and we’ll do everything we can to help.

If you are a health professional or student, we hope you will also find information here to help you in your work or studies and you may be especially interested in the section Good practice. Our media section offers background information and contact details for journalists researching programmes, articles or features.
