Donating goods

Do you have household items that you no longer need: perhaps clothes, furniture or even an old car? From time to time, we are alerted to organisations that are able to help our supporters turn their unwanted goods into funds for the Miscarriage Association.

We have listed the current opportunities that we are aware of below. The items that you donate through these schemes, whether they are cars for scrap or shoes that don’t quite fit, help us raise the funds we need each year to continue supporting those affected by pregnancy loss.

Thrift+

Almost three quarters of unwanted clothing goes to landfill. Thrift+ allows you to sell your unwanted clothes and accessories, earn credits to spend online and to make a donation to the M.A. Find out more and get started here.

Giveacar

Giveacar is a non-profit fundraising organisation that raises money for charities by scrapping and selling old cars. They run a UK-wide service where they will collect the car from your home free of charge and either recycle it at an Authorised Treatment Facility or sell it at auction. Scrap donations can raise about £35 for the M.A., and auctions can raise much more. To arrange collection of your car, visit the Giveacar website or call 020 7736 4242, quoting the Miscarriage Association as your preferred charity.

eBay for Charity

When you sell items on eBay, you can choose to donate between 10 and 100% of your selling price to the Miscarriage Association through their eBay for Charity scheme. You can also donate to the Miscarriage Association when you buy goods. To get started, log-in to your eBay account, visit the eBay for Charity site, click on the ‘Find a Charity to Support’ button, search for ‘Miscarriage Association’ and add us to your favourites.
