‘Puddle Hoppers’ swim the Channel
So many people wished us good luck and at the same time told me their stories of loss to miscarriage. We carried them all with us when we swam and then we brought them all home.
On Wednesday 17th October 2018 we made it across the Channel… 18 months of training and after 22.4 nautical miles of swimming in a time of 12 hours and 46 mins, the ‘Puddle Hoppers’ relay team (Becky, Kelly, Chris and myself, Pete) reached land just outside of Wissant.
It has been an emotional roller coaster since then, but one we have all be proud to ride.
I am a dad of 2 now and for that I am incredibly grateful, but I will never forget the 2 babies I was never lucky enough to hold.
Miscarriage is so cruel, and during the hard hours of training for this challenge so many people wished us good luck and at the same time told me their stories of loss to miscarriage. We carried them all with us when we swam and then we brought them all home.
The Miscarriage Association put my wife and I back together when we thought we would forever be broken and for that I cannot thank you enough.
