Dan cycled coast to coast with his friends
After Dan and his wife Rebekah suffered a miscarriage, Dan decided to get his friends on board to do something special to support our charity.
I must admit I cried a little, the emotion of it all and the fact that I was doing it for such a good cause and remembering what me and my wife Rebekah went through became a little much for me.
When I first decided to start raising money for the Miscarriage Association I wasn’t sure what I was going to do but then settled on a coast to coast bike ride from Blackpool to Scarborough.
It soon came round and me and my two work colleagues Adam and Jez were stood at Blackpool tower preparing to set off. It was a massive struggle getting up all the hills that we were faced with. The first day wasn’t too bad and the views across the route were lovely and it was quite enjoyable. We eventually got to Harrogate, our half way point, the campsite was lovely and the owners were even better, looking after us and our bikes.
At the start of the second day we had sore legs but we powered through although we hit every hill possible, and then finally the sign for Scarborough! On seeing the sign I must admit I cried a little, the emotion of it all and the fact that I was doing it for such a good cause and remembering what me and my wife Rebekah went through became a little much for me.
As we arrived on the seafront I couldn’t have felt much prouder of Jez and Adam for being there all the way and completing the coast to coast. We have raised over £1,000 so far and for such a good cause.
