Emma ran the Langanside 10k in memory of her two losses
When Emma's friend asked her to train for a 10k she was initially a bit hesitant, but soon changed her mind when she decided to fundraise for the Miscarriage Association at the same time.
By the time I ran the race I felt like I had finally forgiven my body and regained my confidence.
When my friend asked me if I wanted to do the Langanside 10k with her in September 2023, I was initially a bit hesitant, but I soon changed my mind and decided to fundraise for the Miscarriage Association. This charity means a lot to me after having two miscarriages before I had my little girl. The information on their website was so reassuring and reliable when I was trying to find my way during this awful time.
During the training, the kilometres started racking up and with every run I felt stronger physically and mentally than I had done for a long time. By the time I ran the race I felt like I had finally forgiven my body and regained my confidence. Running past the finish and seeing my rainbow baby waiting for me was the best feeling in the world!
People were so generous with their donations and it’s clearly a cause that touched many.
