Emily and Joseph raised money for The Miscarriage Association by completing 250,000 steps each in October
Emily and Joseph wanted to take on a step challenge during Baby Loss Awareness Week to raise awareness of baby loss after their own experiences. They felt that miscarriage should be talked about more as they felt alone in their situation.
For many couples it is exciting news to see a positive pregnancy test. We started to consider the future as no longer just us two but as a family.
October is Pregnancy Loss Awareness Month. It is estimated that in a year over 250,000 pregnancies end in a miscarriage in the UK.
This is very close to our hearts, and we wanted to raise money to fund more research and support for families going through the same pain that we have felt.
We personally have never been through anything more traumatic than losing our three babies and not knowing why.
We wanted to raise awareness that this does happen to 1 in 4 pregnancies and that it should be talked about more as we felt quite alone in our situation, however, the more people we spoke to the more we understand just how many people have gone through a similar experience as our own.
We aimed to raise money for The Miscarriage Association by completing 250,000 steps each in October; A step to remember and recognise everyone who has suffered this year. We managed to compete our target of 250,00 steps and surpass our goal and raised over £650.
We hope that the money and awareness we have raised will ensure that The Miscarriage Association can continue with their much needed support.
