The TCS London Marathon

The TCS London Marathon is an iconic race, and the world’s largest annual one-day fundraising event. You can be part of this record-breaking fundraising push, and run for the Miscarriage Association, making a real difference to those affected by pregnancy loss.

Over 840,000 people applied for the 2025 race – will you be applying for 2026?

Getting a place

There are two main ways of getting a place in the London Marathon – through the ballot and by applying for a charity place. If you enter through both channels, you’ll maximise your chances of taking part in this brilliant event!

Applying for a charity place

By applying for one of our charity places, you’ll be fundraising for us, helping us to support even more people going through the heartbreak of pregnancy loss.

You’ll also be committing to raising a minimum of £2000.

If you want to run the London Marathon in memory of the little lives lost too soon, please do complete an application form – we’d love to hear from you! Include as much information as you can, including how you might raise the £2000 target.

Please note that we will not start assessing the applications until May. Our emails do sometimes end up in junk, so keep checking your spam folders, or even add fundraising@miscarriageassociation.org.uk to your known contacts.

You can find a copy of our terms and conditions for charity place participants here.

Please note that by applying for a charity place you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.

Applying through the ballot

The public ballot for places in 2026 opens on 25th April, and will close on 2nd May. We will update this webpage with the ballot link on the 25th! Ballot results are usually published over the summer and we’ll update this page when the date is released.

When entering the public ballot, you can opt in to donate your entry fee to the London Marathon Foundation. Meaning if you’re not successful in the main ballot, you’ll be entered into a second chance draw, exclusively for those who chose to donate to the London Marathon Foundation.

If you succeed in getting a place through the ballot (or through Good For Age or a celebrity place), we’d love to have you on our team! This way, you don’t have a specific fundraising target, but you will still be a hugely valued member of the Miscarriage Association team.

If you’d like to be part of our team, please do get in touch, and we’ll introduce you to our fellow runners!

The Miscarriage Association experience

All of our runners – whether they are ballot place runners or have a Miscarriage Association charity place – have access to our private team Facebook group, so you can swap tips and training updates with the rest of the team.

You’ll also receive a pack of fundraising resources, with a running vest and a supporter’s t-shirt, fundraising hints and tips, and all you need to get started.

We also send regular newsletters, create a team WhatsApp group, and you can contact us with queries or concerns. On race day, we’ll be at the Isle of Dogs to cheer you on!

Your impact

Every pound raised for the Miscarriage Association goes directly towards helping us support people going through the heartbreak of pregnancy loss when they need it most.

Your funds can help us continue to offer support and information to those who need it, campaign for better rights and care for those affected by pregnancy loss, and be a leading voice for those going through this heart-breaking experience.
