New clinical guidance and patient information from the RCOG

3rd April 2020

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists have this evening published guidance for rationalising early pregnancy services during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  The guidance has been produced to support early pregnancy services during the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, with two audiences in mind:

Clinicians and service and hospital managers

Pages 2-11 are primarily for clinicians and service and hospital managers.  These pages outline which elements of care should be prioritised and recommend modifications to early pregnancy care, given national recommendations for social distancing of pregnant women.

Women, their partners and families

Pages 12-16, “Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection and early pregnancy: Information for you” provide clear and helpful information about what the recommended changes to early pregnancy services mean for you.

You’ll find the document here.  (www.rcog.org.uk/globalassets/documents/guidelines/2020-04-03-guidance-for-rationalising-early-pregnancy-services-in-the-evolving-coronavirus-covid-19-pandemic.pdf)
