Craig’s story: running the Belfast Half Marathon for the M.A.

Craig and his wife suffered a miscarriage, and lost their twins. Craig took up running shortly after, and ran the Belfast Half Marathon for the Miscarriage Association.

I know that the money will go a long way, and help people that are going through or have been through the same experience as us.

The reason I chose to raise funds for M.A was me and my wife went through a miscarriage and lost our twins, which absolutely devastated us and broke our hearts. The M.A helped my wife with this as she was struggling a lot and she needed help through it, and hearing from other people and seeing how others dealt with it helped her.

I, being a typical man, bottled it all up until it got to a point where it broke me. My wife was my rock at this point and got me through it, and now we have our lovely baby boy Leo Rhys Jones, and we couldn’t be happier.

I took up running, and thought M.A would be an amazing charity to raise funds for, so I completed the Belfast half marathon, and raised £1250. It felt amazing being able to do this and I kmow that the money will go a long way, and help people that are going through or have been through the same experience as us. It’s nice knowing there’s things out there to help you through tough times and that we aren’t alone in this world.

It was an honour to raise the funds, and it won’t be my last time raising for this great charity.
