Tasha ran for the M.A in the 2022 London Marathon
Tasha first ran in the London Marathon for the M.A back in 2001, before supporting us again with her ballot place 21 years later, in 2022!
I ran the then Flora London Marathon in 2001 and raised funds for the Miscarriage Association, that point I had experienced three losses all before 12 weeks.
Back then there was no social media or Just Giving, I went around with my sponsorship form and physically collected cash and cheques. Fast forward to 2022, 21 years later I was one of the lucky people to receive a TCS London Marathon place. I toyed with the idea of raising money once again for the Miscarriage Association but I was scared that it would open up old wounds (it did) but a few weeks before race day I created a Just giving page, wrote a bit of blurb about my history of miscarriage which has been seven in total and started to share away and was surprised at the support I received from friends and family and from the MA team and the rest of runners running and raising money.
Since my seven losses I have been blessed with two children who are now aged 14 and 11 but I will never, ever forget the support I received from MA and giving back and making sure other families continue to have access to their amazing support and services was still very important to me. Old wounds were opened but I am so glad I chose to run for the MA once again.
I thoroughly enjoyed each mile of the marathon, it was a magical day. London really knows how to come out and support the runners.
