My wife and I are a mixed culture family and having children was always something we expected to be a part of our family journey, especially given the cultures we come from.
When we experienced our first loss, we unsurprisingly experienced a full spectrum of emotions; sadness, frustration, and confusion amongst many more. When that loss was followed by two more, we started to consider what it would mean if it never happened for us. After we then had our daughter, we experienced another loss before welcoming our son.
Despite some of the challenges that may come with how loss is perceived and discussed in some cultures, we were extremely fortunate to have a family and community around us who really supported us.

The pain of loss is universal and seeing that through the spectrum of people who unfortunately experience it is extremely important.
